Abstract:

This project documents and analyzes through genetic sequencing the biodiversity of various macroinvertebrate species within the Upper New York Bay. Using biodiversity in an aquatic community is an indicator of health and water quality, this project seeks to understand the health of the Hudson Raritan Estuary by determining the organismal and genetic diversity of settling invertebrates along a salinity gradient.
