American Chestnut trees were once a trademark of eastern American landscape, but have suddenly started disappearing. By bringing over Chinese Chestnut trees, Chestnut Blight was brought over as well. The blight is a fungus that has been decaying American trees, but Chinese trees have proven to be resistant towards it.(6) By being an airborne fungus, it spreads rapidly, thus causing the number of infected trees in an area to grow to insanely large numbers.
