Abstract:

Students will collect a sample of plants from the forested area of Valley Stream NYS Park. DNA will be extracted from each sample and analyzed for its DNA Sequence. Samples will be identified using the bioinformatics website DNA Subway. Once samples are identified a phylogenic tree will be made to show the plants of the forest and their taxonomic relationships
