Abstract:

Mushrooms samples will be collected on a nature trail and near a pond on the Shoreham-Wading River High School campus. Species will be identified visually and compared with genetic identification through DNA barcoding. Greater biodiversity is expected in the nature trail area due to a greater amount of tree and plant species and better soil quality.
