Abstract:

Beach grasses are vital to beach ecosystems. Grasses help in the formation of beach dunes. The bacterial species, enterococci negatively impacts the livelihood of organisms. On Jones Beach, varying concentrations of eneterococci have been found. The objective of this project is to compare biodiversity of beach grasses in different fields of Jones Beach with known differences in enterococci levels.
