Abstract:

Bees play a vital role in pollinating many crops and flowers throughout Long Island and around the world. Beekeepers use selective breeding processes to improve the honey output or pollination rates of bees. The current study aims to compare the biodiversity of bees found in the wild to bees sourced from local apiaries to assess the biodiversity of bees on Long Island.
