Abstract:

In 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated many areas of the Long Island coast. Specifically, Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge's West Pond, a fresh water pond, was opened up to ocean waters; the surrounding area was also devastated. In the time since Hurricane Sandy restoration efforts have been made to the pond. The purpose of this study is to investigate the biodiversity of the newly restored West Pond.
