Abstract:

Pine tree needles influence the environment, dropping the pH of the soil. As a result, the plants surrounding these pines must grow in sub-optimal, acidic conditions. Examining the biodiversity of plants surrounding pines to help determine what species are best suited for this environment and to see if different pine species affect soil pH to different degrees.
