Abstract:

The aim of this experiment is to come to a consensus of what Djon Djon is as a species as it has been a lingering and unanswered question. Attempts to answer this question have been made, but the conclusion is not complete, and leaves room for further interpretation, however we as a team aim to end that. Through extracting DNA from Djon Djon and a similar genera of mushroom (Psathyrella) samples using a Qiagen kit, then amplifying the DNA via PCR to be sequenced and phylogenetically analyzed via computational methods we aim to determine what species Djon Djon is through scientific methods. The conclusion drawn from this experiment will be concrete as the answers provided will not be through visual observation but research.
