Abstract:

the water quality is better than the previous years because there were less leeches found in the river. Leeches tend to prefer low oxygen and low pH water. There were also many smaller invertebrates which may be food sources for smaller fish. Better water quality means cleaner water for people using the river for fishing and recreation. Furthermore, with diverse species of dragonflies and crustaceans, disease carrying insects such as mosquitoes can be controlled.
