Abstract:

Terrestrial Snails are important part of Long Island ecosystem and have many niches to fill. Microbiomes of these snails are currently unknown but could have an important impact on our ecosystem. Learning and exploring the microbiomes of these native snails, will provide us with species to be further investigated as to any already known properties they may possess. Hopefully this information will provide us with insight as to the special characteristics of these bacterial microbiomes.
