Abstract:

The Forge River located in Mastic, Long Island has had a history of being polluted and may contain possible health risks. In order to assess if the surrounding community may be potentially harmed, DNA barcoding must be conducted to identify species that show a threat to human health. The DNA barcoding may show that there is a health risk in that area and that there could be an invasive species.
