Abstract:

The project goal is to create a baseline of biodiversity and determine its effect on human health. We will use DNA barcoding to identify different species in the Forge River. Once we identify those species, we can determine if they are a threat on human health. We collected sand fleas and they can possibly pose a threat to the residents that live by the river. Using the specimen we barcoded, we can find out what species they are and how they affect biodiversity in the river.
