Abstract:

Our project goal is to barcode the terrestrial insects of the Peconic River and compare the results to last year’s samples. We would also like to possibly discover a novel species in the terrestrial area of the Peconic River. Barcoding is being used to discover the species of the organisms we collected. We expect to learn the species that carry pathogens that are harmful to humans.
