Abstract:

Native and Invasive plants (leaves) will be collected from known and unknown plants in Marine Park and Seth Low Park in Brooklyn, and in Spuyten Duyvil, in the Bronx. Over 20 specimens will be collected. DNA will be isolated and sequenced from these and a BLAST search will be made. Species trees will be drawn, and the natural history of the plants will be studied. A comparison of the abundance of the plants in the area will be made, and a map will be created of their location.
