Abstract:

Human impact on the environment has increased greatly in the past couple of decades, despite the attempts of environmental agencies trying to reverse that. Many of the areas heavily impacted are the aquatic ones. Aquatic environments have many factors that could tamper with the natural biodiversity; boating being one of them. Boating, both recreational and commercial, could potentially impact the amount of water pollutants. Boating could also add many nonnative species to the marine areas, which leads to the question; Does boating affect biodiversity?
