In the attempt to discover the current status of health of Orowoc Lake, located in Islip, NY, invertebrates will be collected and used as bioindicators. Surveying the types of organisms and the quantity of each one will reveal how healthy the lake is according to several indices. A final assessment of the lake's current status will be determined by comparing it to research from previous years, which will indicate how it has changed over the years and if it has gotten better or worse.
