Abstract:

For our Barcoding project, we will be discovering whether carabid beetles can be used as bioindicators for lead accumulation. By correlating beetles found on both untouched and human populated lands, we will be able to determine whether the accumulation of lead in soils leads to a difference in carabid beetle population, therefore making them bioindicators.
