Abstract:

Ecosystems require the essential element of biodiversity in order to function. Biodiversity is the diversity of life in such ecosystems. Our goal with this project is to identify up to 20 different invertebrates on the grounds of Bayport Blue Point High School. We will use these identified organisms to analyze the biodiversity of an ecosystem where the land has experienced high human activity, to determine its overall health. We believe that because of this high human activity, the biodiversity near the poles will be negatively impacted.
