Abstract:

The attached proposal was accepted into the 2015-2016 Barcode LI Program. The project was unable to be completed and an addendum for an addition to this biodiversity is located at the end of the file. Invertebrates will be collected from both the headwaters and mouth of the Nissequogue River on Long Island. The biodiversity will indicate the health of the communities along the River. The addendum will continue the biodiversity study at the same locations and include the additional of Suffolk County's mosquito control locations and application schedule. It is hoped to compare the biodiversity along the Nissequogue River between 2015 and 2016, as well as investigate the impact of mosquito control measures on the invertebrate populations.
