Abstract:

We attempt to assess species identity of members of the genus Fundulus using DNA barcoding techniques. We look at members of this diverse genus with morphologically similar phenotypes and sexual dimorphism. We look to barcoding as a possible technique to help non-experts assess the species distribution and abundance of these keystone species. We also assess within species diversity using a phylogenetic parsimony based approach.
