Dune Plant Biodiversity on Fire Island

Abstract:
The barcoding of various plants on the fire island national seashore would help us discover the varying species and biodiversity of Long Island. Using DNA barcoding we could compare sequences to past data bases to either discover evolved or new species. The changes in biodiversity could be because of the occurrence of hurricane sandy in 2012.
